Bound to be Better
I’m happy to report that Crystal Bound, first published in 2010, has been reissued with a new cover and a fresh interior.
While the original handmade quality (and lack of infinite Oxford commas) worked for its time, I’m thrilled with the new product. Although I’d paid for substantive editing for the original work, I thought my bachelor’s in journalism would get me through proofreading.
I was wrong. Books are different than newspapers.
What surprised me most was the interior update. The designer made the pages beautiful, adding light graphics where needed, to make the pages a pleasure to look at.
Yes, I could have saved money and uploaded it again by myself. But this result looks so much better. I’m a writer. Not a designer.
The book update was prompted by the fact that I have a sequel in the works. I wanted a cover and interior design that could meld with any additional books in the series.
Also, I want to show my work at its best. I have three books waiting for me to get through to final drafts. When they’re out, I know that new readers will be checking out what else I’ve written. When they see Crystal Bound, I want it to shine.
